Math enthusiasts around the world celebrate Pi Day and Albert Einstein's birthday.

The four hour behind the scenes exploration of un-restored areas of the ship includes the brig, the fire control tower & so much more. Fee $45. Fee does not include admission to the ship for the regular tour. Friends of the Battleship member & active military are $35. You must be 12 years or older to participate. The tour is not appropriate for children or addults who may have difficulty climbing seven to nine flights of stairs. Wear comfortable, warm, washable clothing & sturdy, rubber-soled shoes. Bring a camera, but no large backpacks. Registration & payment required by Friday, March 5. Your printed email confirmation that you bring with you is your admission ticket. There will be no walk up tickets available. Tour times 8:30am - 12:30pm, 1:30 - 5:30pm.

Join us for a fun-filled Easter Egg Hunt in Battleship Park. Children will find fun, eggs, candy, games, and the Easter Bunny! This wonderful holiday activity is only $5 per child. The 63rd Annual North Carolina Azalea Festival will be held April 7-11, 2010 in the greater Wilmington area. The Festival is a celebration of Wilmington’s exceptional artwork, gardens, rich history and culture during its five days of entertainment that includes: a parade, street fair, circus, concerts, pageantry, and all that is Southern. Fees required for some events.

The Southport-Oak Island Chamber of Commerce sponsors the 5K & 10K. The 2009 event will take place on April 18, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female, and in each age group.

Admission fees: $20 per person, $10 military/law enforcement on entries post marked by March 21st. $25 per person, $15 military/law enforcement after March 21st. T-shirt or tank included with first 500 entries.

Over 50 arts and crafts vendors, food, live entertainment and the famous ''Bopple'' race on Sunday at around 3:00pm. The Holden Beach Mayor and Commissioners toss the ''bopples'' from atop the bridge. If your bopple is 1st or 2nd, you win a prize!

Remember those who gave their lives in service & honor veterans at our traditional Memorial Day Observance featuring a military guest speaker, an all-service Color Guard, a 21 gun salute by a Marine Corps Honor Guard, military band, Taps & a memorial wreath cast onto the waters. Program held on the fantail of the Battleship.

July 1st - Beach Day, July 3, 4 & 5 - Events will be in downtown Southport. Because July 4th is on a Sunday in 2010, the parade & fireworks will be held on July 5th.

One of the largest choreographed fireworks display in the State of North Carolina explodes over the Battleship. View this spectacular event from historic downtown Wilmington. The Battleship closes at 6pm for fireworks.

19th Annual Labor Day weekend festival is a celebration of local & regional artists & crafts peope who display & sell their handmade goods within sight of the ocean. Proceeds are used toward scholarships for local high school students. Food will be sold.
