The four hour behind the scenes exploration of un-restored areas of the ship includes the brig, the fire control tower & so much more. Fee $45. Fee does not include admission to the ship for the regular tour. Friends of the Battleship member & active military are $35. You must be 12 years or older to participate. The tour is not appropriate for children or addults who may have difficulty climbing seven to nine flights of stairs. Wear comfortable, warm, washable clothing & sturdy, rubber-soled shoes. Bring a camera, but no large backpacks. Registration & payment required by Friday, March 5. Your printed email confirmation that you bring with you is your admission ticket. The Southport-Oak Island Chamber of Commerce sponsors the 5K & 10K. The 2009 event will take place on April 18, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female, and in each age group.
