The oldest and largest sculpture garden in the United States, Brookgreen Gardens is a National Historic Landmark and features over 550 sculptures, all of which were created by American artists!  The grounds are covered with centuries-old live oaks and more than 2,000 different species of plants!  A large covered space for changing exhibitions, a garden room for children, learning laboratories, an indoor exhibition hall, an auditorium, a cafe, and a gift shop are also located on the grounds for your viewing enjoyment!

Welcome to Silver Coast Winery, home to Coastal North Carolina's premier producer of premium wines. We are just 15 minutes inland from the beach, and our vineyard and winery are set on 40 acres, surrounded by lush woods. We are the only winery in the neighborhood, and our lovely setting is the perfect place to learn about wines, share a peaceful picnic with friends, enjoy art by local artists or stage a festive event.

The building that currently houses the Franklin Square Gallery is located in a grove of stately live oaks at 130 E. West Street in Southport, NC. It was built to serve as a school and did so from 1904 to 1930. It served a variety of community needs, including City Hall, community building, and library from 1930 to 1978. In 1979, the building became an art gallery and has been operated by the Associated Artists of Southport for the past 25 years. The Association is responsible for maintaining and operating the Gallery and Pottery Studio. The City of Southport provides the buildings and maintains the exteriors. The Gallery is truly a unique cooperative endeavor among the artists, the City of Southport, and all citizens, both permanent and visiting.

Filled with azaleas, statuary, and camellias, Airlie Gardens is a magnificent 67 acre beautiful Southern garden and includes the historic Airlie Oak as well as ten acres of freshwater lakes.  Airlie Gardens is must see!

Poplar Grove Plantation preserves the homestead of a successful farming family, and the outbuildings and crafts typical of an 1800s era working community. Poplar Grove is preserved through the efforts of the non-profit Poplar Grove Foundation.

Orton Plantation is situated about halfway between Wilmington and Southport.  The area was settled in the early 1700s.  Orton Plantation began as a prominent rice plantation.  The Gardens of Orton Plantation were begun in 1910 and gradually expanded to their current 20 acres.  The landscaping of the gardens is absolutely exquisite and is a must see on a vacation in the coastal Carolina region!
